About the role and team

Want to use your Employment law expertise to make a genuine, lasting difference?

At Anthony Collins, we believe law is a powerful tool for positive social impact. Our Employment team works with organisations that improve lives every day – national charities, major housing associations, well-known care providers, local authorities, faith-based organisations, and schools and academies. These are clients whose decisions shape communities, support vulnerable people, and drive social change.

We are seeking an experienced lawyer, Associate or above (ideally 6+ PQE), to join our specialist team in Birmingham or Manchester. This is a role for someone who wants senior responsibility, high-quality work, and the opportunity to help nurture a team with purpose.

As a senior member of the team, you will:

  • Take ownership of key client relationships, becoming a trusted adviser on sensitive and strategically important matters.

  • Lead and nurture colleagues, offering supervision, guidance and development support.

  • Play an active role in business development helping the team continue to grow its market-leading presence.

You will work on a wide range of interesting and meaningful matters, including:

  • Delivering tailored, practical advice that supports clients’ missions and helps them serve their communities effectively.

  • Advising on senior, complex and high-stakes employee relations issues – disciplinaries, grievances, whistleblowing, discrimination and safeguarding-related matters.

  • Supporting large-scale reorganisations, restructuring, redundancy programmes and TUPE transfers.

  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims for respondent clients across our core sectors.

About the candidate

You will bring:

  • Significant Employment Law experience (ideally 6+ PQE) with the confidence to lead on complex matters.

  • A track record of supervising, mentoring or developing colleagues.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to become a trusted partner to senior stakeholders.

  • Clear, pragmatic communication and excellent drafting skills.

  • A collaborative approach, grounded in strong professional values.

This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their expertise, step into greater leadership responsibility, and work on matters with real purpose and impact.
