About the role and team

 
The role will primarily be to support fee earners in the Matrimonial team but there is opportunity to work across the rest of the private client teams which include child care, Wills and Probate and Court of Protection. You will be joining us in our newly refurbished office in Birmingham. This is a fantastic chance to be part of a dynamic and supportive team, where you will play a key role in providing administrative and secretarial support to our legal team.
 
  • The main responsibilities of the secretarial role include:
    • Typing via dictation
    • Document amendments - to include applications to court, court orders, witness statements etc
    • Diary Management
    • File management - to include opening and closing files, carrying out compliance checks, scanning and saving documents to the document management system
    • Contact with clients and professionals via telephone and email
    • Dealing with all communications and document exchange through the court portal.

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent secretarial skills
  • They will be enthusiastic and keen to get involved and take on whatever may come their way
  • Their ability to contribute to a busy department as a reliable team player is essential
  • They will have the ability to confidently and sensitively build rapport with clients and third parties
  • Secretarial qualifications are essential
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently build good relationships with colleagues across the teams
  • Familiarity with legal aid processes and procedures would be desirable although not essential
