About the role and team
We are looking to appoint a Legal Secretary into our PI / Clinical Negligence team on a Permanent basis.
 
You will provide comprehensive and proactive secretarial and administrative support ranging from drafting and amending correspondence / documents, preparing bundles, paginating and saving medical records received, redaction of documents, dealing with financial admin and file management, regularly monitoring no movement report to identify files to be closed and carrying out the same, managing diaries and arranging meetings / conferences with experts / barristers, carrying out court filing, monitoring and saving fee earners’ emails, and high levels of digital dictation for at least 3 fee earners.

You will also be responsible for taking all telephone calls for your fee earners and in particular taking telephone calls / enquiries from new clients, taking pertinent and relevant information to be passed on to the medico-legal advisor / fee earners in the team and thereafter updating new client data.

  • Have developed IT skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, digital dictation packages and in other IT systems such as Excel and PowerPoint
  • Have excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail
  • Have a sufficient level of responsibility, experience and knowledge to work unsupervised on daily work in relation to legal terms and local precedents, including the ability to interpret and apply amendments to standard documents and precedents
  • A confident and assured telephone manner with the willingness to develop skills as required
  • Be reliable and punctual work record
  • Have a commitment to keeping all matters confidential
Experience of working in PI/clinical negligence would be highly advantageous in this role.
