About the role and team

Due to continued growth and success, ACS are looking to appoint a qualified banking lawyer to join our highly successful Funding & Finance practice based in Birmingham.

The Funding and Finance team advise on the financings of housing associations, social enterprises, charities, health and social care entities and local authorities.  Examples of transactions that we’ve worked on include the advising Futures Housing Group on its debut bond issue in an amount of £200m (£50m of which are retained bonds), advising a large council on lending £22m to a professional sports club, advising a large housing group on a £100m house building joint venture with a national house builder and advising Charity Bank on many lending transactions.

Over the last 3 years the firm have raised £4.563bn new funding on 110 projects for new affordable homes!!!

You will be advising on a range of finance matters work such as complex funding and finance-related projects including bonds, private placements, revolving credit facilities and joint ventures, as well as securitisation and charging of assets.

Client include housing associations, local authorities and other public sector bodies, charities, social businesses as well as private sector bodies. 



About the candidate
  • Experience of banking law, gained post-qualification or during your training contract
  • Ability to build rapport with a variety of ‘clients’, both external and internal, and inspire and hold their confidence
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a high performing team
  • Ability and desire to develop technical legal skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong self-motivation and proactivity, and confident to use your own initiative where appropriate to deliver consistently high-quality work that meets the client’s needs
